Cyber Essentials Plus involves a rigorous technical audit of your organization’s systems, focusing on a representative set of workstations, mobile devices, servers, and build types. This audit ensures that your cybersecurity defenses meet the high standards of the Cyber Essentials scheme.
Package Details:
- Audit Scope: Our Cyber Essentials Plus package includes an audit of systems at a single location, covering up to ten sample devices (including workstations, mobile devices, and servers). If your organization requires testing of more than ten devices to meet the sampling requirements, you will need to purchase the Cyber Essentials Plus Certification – Additional Device Testing package.
- Vulnerability Scan: The package includes an external vulnerability scan of up to 20 IP addresses. Should your organization have more than 20 IP addresses, you will need to purchase additional IP testing packages.
- Testing Duration: The time required for testing depends on the number of builds of user devices, including BYOD (bring your own device), that fall within the certification scope.
Testing Logistics:
- Remote Audits: Typically, the technical audit is conducted remotely for convenience. However, if on-site testing is required, additional charges will apply to cover travel time and expenses for our consultants.
- On-Site Audits: For on-site audits, the number of physical locations to be assessed depends on the number of builds and whether all devices can be tested at one site. A “location” refers to either a single office or all devices being connected to the same network.
Retesting and Remediation:
- Retesting Policy: If any part of your system fails during the Cyber Essentials Plus testing, we will provide detailed information about the failed components and required remedial action. The package includes one free retest. If further tests are required beyond this, an additional Cyber Essentials Plus Internal Retest package will need to be purchased.
Timeframe and Completion:
- Certification Deadline: The Cyber Essentials Plus final report and certificate must be completed within 30 days of the initial audit date. Any necessary remediation and retesting must be completed within this timeframe to allow for quality assurance and report generation.
- Renewal of Cyber Essentials: If the Cyber Essentials Plus application is not completed within three months from the date of your Cyber Essentials certification, you will be required to renew your Cyber Essentials certification at full cost before proceeding with further Cyber Essentials Plus testing.
